BIG congrats to Katherlyn Geter and her hard working campaign team for winning the county primary by 15 votes! This is a shining example of how every vote matters – especially in local elections. Ms. Geter is running unopposed in the local general election this fall and will be the only African American female to sit on the Hamilton County Commission this term. Here’s to a more inclusive county government.
From her website:
“I am Katherlyn Geter and I am running for Hamilton County Commission District 5 to be your CHAMPION OF CHANGE!
In my role as an advocate for healthcare, I’ve been recognized as a strong and trusted resource to many in Chattanooga. I’ve brought a different LOOK, MINDSET, and many different RESOLUTIONS to real life issues. I feel I can continue to be that in a larger capacity FOR YOU to bring about the transformation that is needed in our local government. Government exists to assist people. Too often there seems to be a perception of disconnect and unresponsiveness from government, concerning the issues that individuals face today.
I want to bring that transformation to Hamilton County Commission for the residents of District 5. TRANSFORMATION that consists of INCLUSION in education, PARTNERSHIPS within our community, and GROWTH in our public health care system.”
